The Collection: Foundations

Makeup collection blog posts are amongst my favourite posts to read as they teach you not only what would work well for you, but what will work well for others. Making you the go-to-girl when it comes to helping your friend decide what foundation they should purchase.
There is often an overwhelming amount of different products with claims to work wonders for you skin. Some true and some false. Hopefully this post can help point you in the right direction of which foundations will work well with your skin and which won't.

(Left-Right) Bourjois Heathy Mix in 52- Vanilla, Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow in "I'm so Money Honey", Rimmel Match Perfection in 102- True Ivory, Benefit Big Easy in 04- Medium, Dermalogica Brighten Up SPF

Bourjois Healthy Mix
This is my go-to dewy foundation, for days when my skin is on the dry side and lacking luster. The coverage of the product is medium which gives an even complexion without caking over blemishes, however, the dewy finish to the foundation means it lasts for only a few hours without power.
Coverage: 3/5
Staying Power: 2/5
Finish: 4/5
Would I Repurchase?: YES
Overall Rating: 3/5

Benefit Hello Flawless
This foundation is my go-to special occasion foundation as it gives great coverage without looking cakey. However the SPF does mean it flashes back in pictures, this doesn't bother me as I have a natural, medium tone skin tone, therefore I don't turn into Edward Cullen under the bright light of the flash. The staying power of this is another feature which makes this my holy grail, special occasion foundation as it lasts all day without the need to power, therefore you can enjoy your day without the worry of a greasy looking complexion.
Coverage: 4/5
Staying Power: 4/5
Finish: 4/5
Would I Repurchase?: YES
Overall Rating: 4/5 (obviously)

Rimmel Match Perfection
Being a recent purchase, I can't fully review this product as I've only been testing it out for a few weeks, meaning I don't know how this foundation will react with a cold, harsh British winter, which undoubtedly lies ahead. However, for the few weeks I have been using this product, it has quickly worked its way up to the top spot in my foundation collection as the coverage, staying power and finish are all perfect for its intended us, an everyday foundation. Definitely worth a look at next time you're makeup shopping.
Coverage: 4/5
Staying Power: 4/5
Finish: 5/5
Would I Repurchase?: YES
Overall Rating: 4.5/5

Benefit Bigger Than BB
Another recent addition to my collection, this foundation has rapidly been collecting dust at the bottom of my foundation draw. "A perfect summer foundation" I said as I swiped my debit card through the machine at the blindingly colourful Benefit counter. This was an impulse buy, and at £28.50, a rather expensive one. As a BB cream, I expected this product to be sheerer than an ordinary foundation, but not to the extent this product is. The finish is nice as its matte and stays matte..well until 5 minutes later when you need to touch up.
Coverage: 1/5
Staying Power: 1.5/5
Finish: 4/5
Would I Repurchase?: NO
Overall Rating: 1.5/5

Dermalogica Brighten Up SPF
This is another sheer product which is more like a moisturiser than a foundation. I don't think this is marketed as a foundation, more of a moisturiser with a tint. Therefore it suits its purpose, however, I would not repurchase as I desire a heavier coverage. This is nice just to throw on if you're going for a 'no make up look', but should not be purchased if you're wanting to achieve a put together look.
Coverage: 0.5/5
Staying Power: 2/5
Finish: 2/5
Would I Repurchase?: NO
Overall Rating: 2/5

Thank you for reading my brief summary of all my foundations. I hope this was helpful in your quest to find the perfect foundation.

Daily Dose: My Haircare Routine

Routines are essential to my life. Being the OCD teen I am, my life has to have structure. Therefore logically, my favourite blog posts to read are routines. So I present to you..my hair care routine.

Wash
There are do's and donts when it comes to finding the right shampoo and conditioner combination. The right combination can take your hair from dull and lifeless to red carpet ready. The wrong...well, putting it nicely, can secure your hairs destiny for the big chop. Quite literally.
After many misses, I've finally found a set of products that work wonders on my locks leaving them replenished and soft. These two work in conjunction to keep my hair grease free over the course of 2 days and feeling as though I've just stepped out of the salon.
Organix' Argan Oil of Morocco' Shampoo and Conditioner

Treat
After most showers I like to treat my hair to an luxurious oil. I find oils like the one below smoothen my hair, making it easier to style and add a silky finish. I add one pump of TRESemmes 'Liquid Gold' to the lengths of my hair, focusing it at the tips then apply any remaining product to the roots. Being careful not don't indulge the roots too much to avoid excess oil building up.

Brush
Many overlook hairbrushes as a make it or break it item in their haircare routine. This is where we go wrong. A hairbrush is undoubtedly the most important accessory when it comes to haircare routines as this is the secret to tangle free hair. As a sufferer of extremely knotty hair disorder, I find that a Tangle Teezer is the best cure a girl can find for this destructive disorder. Not only do they create easy locks for you to play with, but they enable you to create any style you desire without the worry of painful knotting by the end of the day. I thank you Shaun Pulfrey, creator of the Tangle Teaser, for making my life a hell of a lot easier.
With this revolutionary product, I like to use an oil to help smoothen my hair down. Organix 'Moroccan Argan Weightless Oil' is my personal fave as it doesn't add unnecessary weight and allows you to still have volume, despite the fact that you have oil in you hair.

Style
Finally, when it comes to styling my hair all I do is blow dry. The hair gods blessed me with easily tamable hair, therefore all I need is a little bit of heat defence and a good hair dryer and I'm set. I use the Babyliss 'Turbo Shine' hairdryer, however, any will do for me. Then to protect, I use the Redken 'Iron Silk Ultra Straightening Spray'. I tend to switch this up with a TRESemme heat defence to keep my locks protected from the heat of the hairdryer, thereby minimising split ends and maximising time between chops.

That concludes my hair routine. I hope these mini product reviews have helped you in the search of your go-to hair products.
Until next time, thank you for reading.

Nice to Meet you: An Introduction

For years, I've been inspired by the blogging and vloging community. Hours of my life have been spent reading words written by talented and specialist bloggers who are experts in their field and watching the most interesting of videos, exploring the lives of my inspirations. I've admired the likes of Fleur De Force and Tanya Burr, not only for their blogs, but their drive to follow the dream. The dream to succeed in the industry.
The fashion and beauty industry has been a huge part of my life since I was aware of the complex world around me. Whether it was raiding my mothers makeup bag or cutting out the seasons hottest trends from Vogue to stick on my bedroom walls, everything I found pleasure in, would involve the fashion and beauty world.
However, with the overwhelming amount of school work and exam stress, recently I have lost touch with my creative side. The side of me I've always wanted to flaunt, but have never had the courage to. This is why I decided to create an anonymous blog. Sharing my style, love for beauty products and passion to become something. Something to be proud of. I believe you've reached success, once you are happy within life. I know the answer to my happiness is through the exploration of something I love. The fashion and beauty world.
Therefore, I present to you... My Colourless World. A blog following my fashion and beauty journey for the foreseeable future. Hopefully, with this I will grow and develop into the successful woman I want to be.
Thank you for reading. And one final thing..nice to meet you.
