Makeup collection blog posts are amongst my favourite posts to read as they teach you not only what would work well for you, but what will work well for others. Making you the go-to-girl when it comes to helping your friend decide what foundation they should purchase.
There is often an overwhelming amount of different products with claims to work wonders for you skin. Some true and some false. Hopefully this post can help point you in the right direction of which foundations will work well with your skin and which won't.
(Left-Right) Bourjois Heathy Mix in 52- Vanilla, Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow in "I'm so Money Honey", Rimmel Match Perfection in 102- True Ivory, Benefit Big Easy in 04- Medium, Dermalogica Brighten Up SPF
Bourjois Healthy Mix
This is my go-to dewy foundation, for days when my skin is on the dry side and lacking luster. The coverage of the product is medium which gives an even complexion without caking over blemishes, however, the dewy finish to the foundation means it lasts for only a few hours without power.
Coverage: 3/5
Staying Power: 2/5
Finish: 4/5

Overall Rating: 3/5
Benefit Hello Flawless
This foundation is my go-to special occasion foundation as it gives great coverage without looking cakey. However the SPF does mean it flashes back in pictures, this doesn't bother me as I have a natural, medium tone skin tone, therefore I don't turn into Edward Cullen under the bright light of the flash. The staying power of this is another feature which makes this my holy grail, special occasion foundation as it lasts all day without the need to power, therefore you can enjoy your day without the worry of a greasy looking complexion.
Coverage: 4/5
Staying Power: 4/5
Finish: 4/5

Overall Rating: 4/5 (obviously)
Rimmel Match Perfection
Being a recent purchase, I can't fully review this product as I've only been testing it out for a few weeks, meaning I don't know how this foundation will react with a cold, harsh British winter, which undoubtedly lies ahead. However, for the few weeks I have been using this product, it has quickly worked its way up to the top spot in my foundation collection as the coverage, staying power and finish are all perfect for its intended us, an everyday foundation. Definitely worth a look at next time you're makeup shopping.
Coverage: 4/5
Staying Power: 4/5
Finish: 5/5

Benefit Bigger Than BB
Another recent addition to my collection, this foundation has rapidly been collecting dust at the bottom of my foundation draw. "A perfect summer foundation" I said as I swiped my debit card through the machine at the blindingly colourful Benefit counter. This was an impulse buy, and at £28.50, a rather expensive one. As a BB cream, I expected this product to be sheerer than an ordinary foundation, but not to the extent this product is. The finish is nice as its matte and stays matte..well until 5 minutes later when you need to touch up.
Coverage: 1/5
Staying Power: 1.5/5
Finish: 4/5
Would I Repurchase?: NO
Overall Rating: 1.5/5
Dermalogica Brighten Up SPF
This is another sheer product which is more like a moisturiser than a foundation. I don't think this is marketed as a foundation, more of a moisturiser with a tint. Therefore it suits its purpose, however, I would not repurchase as I desire a heavier coverage. This is nice just to throw on if you're going for a 'no make up look', but should not be purchased if you're wanting to achieve a put together look.
Coverage: 0.5/5
Staying Power: 2/5
Finish: 2/5
Would I Repurchase?: NO
Overall Rating: 2/5
Thank you for reading my brief summary of all my foundations. I hope this was helpful in your quest to find the perfect foundation.
